Doryoku Race Bar’s philosophy of use & design
1994 - 2001 Acura Integra DC2 DB8 rear track bar specifications:
☆ $35 flat rate shipping - up to 2 bars (front & rear)
☆ Legal in Gridlife, NASA, SCCA , Champcar Endurance Racing , WRL Endurance Racing, Luckydog Endurance Racing & more
Custom Options:
☆ Dual coating Zinc + Powder:
All bars come zinc chromate plated. I can powder coat matte black over zinc for $30 extra. Any additional colors will be $45-80. We will verify your color & adjust/refund your invoice accordingly.
☆ Dual Mini Hooks:
These welded hooks provide easy access tie-down for dyno or transport on trailer. Dual hooks can welded at any angle, 45*, straight back, or downward. Most commonly is downward. We will verify your specs before fabrication.
☆ Hidden Universal tow strap bracket:
This welded bracket allows for universal tow straps to be bolted on. Tow strap bracket can be placed on driver or passenger side. We will verify your specs before fabrication.
☆ Recessed CNC M12 tow bung:
Welded CNC M12 bung allows for thread in style tow strap which is common on modern cars such as S2000, FRS BRZ, BMW, Corvette, Porsche, VW Audi sports cars. We can place this anywhere on the bar (passenger, driver, center behind license plate). The most popular location is behind the license plate. We will verify your specs before fabrication.
☆ Dual M8 pucks for diffuser support rods:
M8 pucks make it easy to attach rear aero bracket or support rods. M8 pucks are placed on the bar based on your setup. We will verify your specs before fabrication.
Engineering Design Notes:
☆ In order to keep the bar tight to the backside of the bumper cover, we designed the bar with quad bends. This follows the recessed license plate cavity. The bar is tight on the sides and center. No other bar on the market features this design.
☆ Having the bar tight to the license plate also allows us to use the recessed cavity of the bumper to hide M12 tow bung, or M8 pucks to attach rain-light or camera mounts. Simply reinstall your license plate when on the street. See photos in gallery
FAQ
FAQ
Q1: Why replace the stock rear bar?
A1: The two reasons would be for weight reduction & safety. OEM rear beam are one of the first items to rusty away since it traps most of the rain, snow, salt. Rust breaks down the welds & material which reduces strength & safety of the beam. Doryoku tubular bar is a direct replacement made of stronger material yet lighter & provides built in provisions for needs of track/enthusiast cars & can be customized further.
Q2: Does this fit coupe, sedan?
A2: Yes, the rear bar fits all 94-01 Integra
Q3: What's the difference between tow strap bracket & M12 tow bung?
A3: They both do the same thing. It comes down to what your preference is. Newer cars all have thread-in tow hooks where the bung is captive to the bar.
● Using the tow bung will require you to cut a 8mm hole (smaller than dime) in your bumper cover for you to access the bung.
● Using the tow strap bracket will require you to make a thin 2-2.5" horizontal cut in your bumper to allow for the tow strap to pull through your bumper cover.
Q4: How do T-slot brackets work?
A4: T-slot allow for T-hooks to be inserted into the bar to be used as tie-down function. See tech link: T-slot hooks
Q5: Powder coating is free/standard on your front bar, why is it extra on the rear bar?
A5: Front bars are "closed tube" design so powder coat can be applied on all surfaces. Rear bar is "open tube" design which is harder to powder coat inside the tube whereas zinc plating submerges the bar in acid cleaning tank & plating tank to provide more coverage protection. I can apply powder coating directly over zinc for those who want to have rear bars match their front.
Q6: How do you mount rear aero/diffuser support rods?
A6: M8 threaded pucks can be welded anywhere to the bar. See tech link:M8 welded pucks - Universal
Q7: What is the weight savings over stock?
A7: Doryoku rear bar provides 7.2lbs weight savings.
It's not so much about how much weight is removed, what's more important in any track car is "where" the weight is removed. Anytime you can remove weight from areas beyond the wheel is important. This improves the car's natural balance & giving you the control to strategically add weight back in where it's most beneficial for your setup or race series. Check out this video from Ben as he talks more about about weight reduction & distribution.
Gears & Gasoline - Why where weight reduction matters
Q4: How do you mount rear diffuser support rods on to your bar?
A: We can weld M8 pucks to the bar which allows you to attach brackets or support rods to the bar.
Splitter rod mounts with M8 pucks
We recommend Professional Awesome universal splitter/aero support rods which can be used on either option of our bar.
